Engine stall upon accelerating from stop to go when air conditioning set at max temp with load (2 passengers and luggage in trunk approx 400 lbs.The boat has not been used for at least 2 seasons, and according to the past owner, has probably only had about 60 gal of fuel run through it for its whole life. Most of the time I can keep it from stalling by slightly lifting gas pedal or down shifting manually, mostly after the temp gauge goes above around 1/4. Run pretty good but I think it might need some carb work. If you don’t know what it means or haven’t heard the term before, it’s usually when you let the engine sit or idle for more than a minute and when you go to rev it, it coughs and sputters. It will be slow to react to changes in airflow as well. When this happens it will sometimes start, but as soon as you rev it the water rises into the combustion chamber and kills it. When i say thats the only function, no other operation labours the engine, I could lift, slew, track, anything except extending or retracting the stick with a load. F1MOTO regularly receives enquiries about poorly running or seized 2 stroke engines. The problem occurs when accelerating / shifting at the low end of the gears, ie low rpm, almost to the point of the engine dying. 2 stroke engine stalls under load If any of these is lacking, the engine may stall.
